The intent of the Americans with Disabilities Act is to extend Civil Rights to individuals who have disabilities which limit major life activities. People with disabilities face special challenges simply to function in a world built for the able-bodied.
Eliminating barriers in the built environment is a key element in complying with the ADA. Access by Design applies a pragmatic approach to creative problem solving. ADA project goals are two-fold: Providing equal access and formulating cost-effective solutions by integrating design concepts with sound business principles and common sense!
We've developed this web site as a resource for those who have responsibility for implementing the ADA -- presenting an often-confusing law in a simplified manner. Additionally, we've provided information and resources for those who have disabilities in order to make their lives richer.
