Philosophy: Access by Design embraces the ideal that all people should enjoy equal opportunities, including access to commercial facilities. The intent of the Americans with Disabilities Act is to extend Civil Rights to individuals who have disabilities which limit major life activities. People with disabilities face special challenges simply to function in a world built for the able-bodied. Eliminating barriers in the built environment is a key element in complying with the ADA. Access by Design applies a pragmatic approach to creative problem solving. ADA project goals are two- fold: Providing equal access and formulating cost- effective solutions by integrating design concepts with sound business principles and common sense!
